This policy is incorporated to the Ringya™ [Terms of Service] (the “Terms”) and constitutes an integral part of it.
Personal information you provide
In order to register, you must provide your cell-phone number and your email address. You may, at your own choice, provide us with further personal information during registration. You are not legally required to provide us any information and submitting the details required is entirely dependent upon your free will. However, you will not be able to register and use the Service if you do not provide the details required.
Personal information in contact lists
The Service allows you to organize, share and use contacts and contact groups. Contact information you submit may include any information you desire. Please make sure to include only information that you obtained lawfully.
We encourage you to respect your contacts’ privacy and obtain their consent before sharing their information with anyone who doesn’t already have it. It is also advisable to refrain from submitting sensitive personal information.
We refer to contact lists loaded into the Service as “Rings”. By default, a Ring is designated as “private”. You choose whether and when to designate it as “shared”. Please note that once you have designated a Ring as “shared” you cannot revert it back to “private”.
The content of a private Ring will only be visible to the user that loaded it to the Service. You may share a Ring with other people and by that – designate it as “shared”. Users of the Service that you, or others, have shared the Ring with may, at their own discretion, share the ring with others. The contacts associated with a shared Ring will be viewable to and editable by all users of the Service the Rings has been shared with. Therefore, contacts included in shared Rings will not be considered private or confidential.
Personal information we collect
When we exchange communications with you, such as when you submit a request to our customer support, we may collect further information other than the details you provided when you registered with us. Such information may include your name, your email address, the type of device you are using, its operating system version and the like.
What we do with personally identifiable information
We will use personally identifiable information for the following purposes only:
- to operate and provide you and other users with the Service, to provide you with support and to handle complaints;
- to improve and customize user experience and develop new Service features;
- to send you and your contacts, updates and notices related to the Service and to contact you as we believe it to be necessary, including for surveys and questionnaires;
- to comply with any applicable law and assist law enforcement agencies under any applicable law, when we have a good faith belief that our cooperation with them meets the applicable legal standards;
- to enforce the Terms and the Policy and prevent misuse of, and other illegal activities from being conducted through, the Service;
- to take any action in any case of dispute, or legal proceeding of any kind between you and the Company, or between you any third party with respect to, or in relation with the Service.
We collect information about the way you and other users use the Service. For example, we record the frequency, scope and manner in which you use the Service. We collect such usage information for the sole purpose of collecting aggregated and anonymous usage information.
We may, at our sole discretion, use such aggregated and anonymous usage information in any way, including by making it available to any third party, and using it to operate the Service, to improve its quality, to create new services and features, and for other internal and commercial purposes.
Sharing information with others
We do not sell, rent or lease personally identifiable information – whether yours or your contacts’ – to third parties for any purpose whatsoever.
We may share personally identifiable information with others in order to operate the Service, under the express provision that their use of such information must comply with this Policy. For example, our contractor may be given a copy of your request to create a contact or a Ring, strictly for the purpose of processing that request for us and uploading it to the Service. Also, when a Ring is designated “shared”, we will share the contact information contained in the Ring with other users of the Service as described in this Policy
In any of the following instances, or subject to your explicit consent, we may however disclose personally identifiable information to third parties:
- If we reasonably believe that you have breached the Terms or performed any act that violates any applicable law, then we may share your information with any third party, as may be required to handle any result of your wrongdoing;
- If we reasonably believe that we are required by law to share or disclose personally identifiable information;
- If we organize the operation of the Service within a different framework, legal structure or entity, provided that the other entity agrees to be bounded by the Policy, with reasonably necessary changes taken into consideration.
Changing personal information
At any time you may change your user account’s personal information and edit any contacts in your Rings (including shared Rings that you are a member of). You can also remove yourself from any shared Ring you are a member of.
Please note that contact information included in a shared Ring may also be modified by other users of the Service that have been invited to the Ring. Such users may add new members to, or remove existing members from, that Ring.
If you find that the information provided is not accurate, complete or updated, then you may make all necessary changes to correct it. Please keep in mind that false, incorrect, or outdated information may impair our ability to provide the Service.
Deleting Your Account
At any time, you may request to delete your account altogether. If you choose so, all your private Rings as well as any personally identifiable information will be deleted.
Transfer of data outside your territory
Personally identifiable information will be processed and stored on our servers located in various sites around the world. Some of them, or even all of them, may be in other countries. You consent to the transfer of personal information to jurisdictions outside your territory.
We implement measures to minimize security risks, such as loss of information or unauthorized access to information. Amongst other steps that we take to safeguard your personal information, we use SSL encryption when you communicate with the Service. However, these measures are unable to provide absolute security. Therefore, we cannot guarantee that the Service and the personal information available through it will be immune from any unauthorized access or other kinds of abuse and misuse. Likewise, we cannot guarantee that your private communications on or through the Service, will remain absolutely private.
Payments you make with Ringya are processed by Payment Solution Providers. Security measures employed in connection with such payments are obviously at the responsibility of the Payment Solution Provider, not the Company.
Changes to the Policy
From time to time, we may change this Policy. You agree to review the Policy periodically so that you are aware of any modifications. Your continued use of the Service indicates your consent to the amended Policy.
The current version of the policy, including any changes to the policy that we will make from time to time, will be available at all times, at: http://ringya.com/privacy-statement/ and through the Ringya app’s user-interface.
You may send us requests, questions or complaints through firstname.lastname@example.org.
